The Scottish Eden

... is one of the two principal rivers of Fife, the other being the Leven. It rises in the middle of nowhere, and flows through the town of Cupar before reaching the North Sea just north of St. Andrews.

In truth, St. Andrews golf course is nearer to the Eden Estuary than the university. Permission for the "playing at golf" on the links adjacent to the "water of eden" was granted by Archbishop Hamilton in 1552.

There's also a River Eden in Kent – it's a tributary of the Medway.
